NEWS & UPDATES
MEMBERSHIPS
SEPTEMBER 23 2024
How to join our club?
Our normal shooting fee is split into 2 options, annual and 1 semester only. For this membership we only accept beginners in the beginning of each undergraduate term as that is when we run our Beginner's Courses. An Associate is a student from another higher education institution based in Aberdeen City or and Open University student, Associates must follow the same process as staff and alumni to affiliate with ArcheryGB directly for insurance purposes. Staff/Alumni memberships are for staff and alumni of the University of Aberdeen only. We also have a social fee for members who wish to join our social activities, including Archery Tag events, but not take part in trainings.
The cost of each is as follows:
Student/Associate Shooting fee (Annual): £55
Student/Associate Shooting fee (1 semester): £35
Staff/Alumni Shooting fee (Annual): £22
Social fee: £5 (Not necessary if buying the shooting fee)
How to pay the right fees?
If you have not already payed the Sports Union fee, this will be added to your basked automatically and it will explain why. You only need to pay this fee one time, you can then join as many sports clubs as you want that academic year without having to pay it again. It is £15 and is not a fee that goes directly to the club, but rather to the Sports Union to be given out in grants to clubs various projects/costs.
Associates and Staff/Alumni must contact the secretary at archery@ausa.org.uk to get instructions on how to affiliate directly with ArcheryGB, costs of which can be found here: https://archerygb.org/get-involved/become-a-member . Experienced archers joining the club for the first time should also contact us via email to arrange and equipment check and access to our training sign-up app Spond.
So if you are interested, head to https://www.ausa.org.uk/sports/club/archery/ to purchase your membership.
Once you have purchased our memberships, look out for emails from our secretary on the Beginner's Course, Affiliation details and how to join our training sign-up app Spond.
See you soon! 🏹
Taster Session
Free taster session, where you get to shoot a few arrows, tutored 1-1 by an experienced archer. We organise several of these at the very beginning of each semester before the start of our beginners course.
Due to the resources of the club and the nature of the sport we are unable to host extra taster sessions throughout the year for beginners.
Experienced archers can join at any time in the year but should get in touch in the first instance so we can arrange a safety briefing and equipment check.
